SP Games Relay
The South Pacific Games Relay is making its way around the country. Sponsored by Oil Search the relay baton visted the Baton was scheduled to visit many towns and villages including Vanimo Town, Bewani Government Border Post, Wutung Village, Musu Village, Yako Village, Waramo Village, Lido Village and the Surf Club, Vanimo Green District Office, Vanimo Primary School, Vanimo General Hospital, Sandaun Provincial Government, Dali Beach, Sissano Lagoon, Tumeleo Island and Aitape on the third day.

Basketball
Wangaratta boys Lloyd and Liam Wright have been selected to play for PNG at the South Pacific Games. While the teenagers are Australian-born, their mother, Helen, is Papua New Guinean, making the brothers eligible to represent the island nation, but 15-year-old Liam was stunned to make it through selections.

Pacific Games Tickets
Tickets for the 15th Pacific Games have gone on sale. The sale of tickets was officially launched at BSP Harbour City Branch in Port Moresby.
The following BSP branches around PNG will be Points of Sale for Tickets: Lae (Top Town & Market), Wewak, Madang, Mt. Hagen, Goroka, Kokopo, Kimbe, Buka and Alotau. In Port Moresby, the general public can purchase at Downtown, Harbour City, Boroko, Waigani Drive, Waigani Banking Centre, Vision City Kiosk and Waterfront Kiosk. The Kiosks are strictly Card Based transactions.

Moresby Power
ExxonMobil and PNG Power Limited have signed an agreement for ExxonMobil to provide electricity to the National Capital District electricity grid. The agreement could result in a K35 million saving on power generation cost from July to December. The agreement has come just in time to ensure enough electricity will be available for the South Pacific Games. Under the agreement, ExxonMobil will supply up to 25 megawatts of electricity to PNG Power.

Four Air Niugini cadet engineers have left for studies at the Air New Zealand Aviation Institute in Christchurch, New Zealand. Air Niugini Chief Executive Officer, Simon Foo said Air Niugini invests a lot of money and resources into training engineers and pilots each year and urged the cadets to be focused and make Air Niugini and the country proud.

Vale Doctor Ray Anere
Doctor Ray Anere from the National Research Institute has passed away. Director Dr. Thomas Webster says Dr. Anere's passing as a loss for the country as a whole, describing him as a great intellectual, and a leading political scientist who gave the best of his time, expertise, and knowledge for PNG's development. Dr Anere was one of the first Papua New Guinean to be awarded a Doctorate in Political Science in 1993.

Moresby Clean Up

Remove Ugly Fencing
Port Moresby governor, Powes Parkop has called on the city residents to remove or pull down all metal sheet or corrugated iron fencing and barbed wire protectors around their properties. Saraga Police Station
A new police station, valued at K600,000, has been opened at Saraga, Six Mile in the National Capital District. National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby-South MP Justin Tkatchenko had contributed K300,000 of taxpayers money each on the project.
